Take Control Of Your Information Sources

Point 1 - Take control of your information sources

The information that we consume determines how we feel, how we think, and what we do.

A person’s reality is controlled by the information you have available to you and what you focus on. Learn to focus on quality information relevant to your goals.

  • What is the best source of information?

  • What information do you need?

  • How frequently do you need it?

Remember that whatever your brain feeds on will shape your life.

If you constantly feed yourself information about things like Covid19, recessions, and depression then you will feel terrible and most likely defeated.

Is the frequent use of these channels nourishing your mind - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Sky News, WhatsApp Groups?

Turn off these channels and limit use to a small window each day. Spend your time learning, reading relevant books, and podcasts, looking for mentors, reflecting, writing, etc.

Controlling Information input can also immediately increase your quality of life

Point 2 - Have a Vision

If it can be described, it can be done.

The common denominator of successful people is that they have a vision. A vision is a mental picture of what you are looking to achieve. It’s a clear and defined picture of what reality will look like. Write it down and describe what it looks like in detail, put it somewhere you can see it, and read it every few weeks.

Commit to the vision!

Point 3 – Have a Plan

Now you have your vision locked in, it is important to understand how to create a plan that includes small daily tasks that will align with your vision.

What daily tasks can you do each day that will push you in the right direction?

Write this question down and take your time to answer. Continuously think about this question and add to or improve your daily tasks over time.

Asking yourself good questions will be pivotal in your self-development.

Remember, it will not be easy, you will have setbacks and you will get knocked down, you must become an expert at dealing with rejection, dust yourself down, and continue with your plan.

Good Luck.
